Kendra Dinius, the founder of Kiki’s Haus, is providing a life altering service for our patients at Banner Diamond Children’s who have lost their hair due to cancer or bone marrow transplant. Female teen and young adult patients frequently tell us that losing their hair was the most devastating part of their cancer journey. Being able to refer patients to Kiki’s Haus for professional hair services has been very exciting for our social work team. Kendra’s services include providing beautiful, high-quality wigs, cutting, and styling them, education on how to care for them, and extensions once hair grown in at an appropriate length. Our patients who have received her services come in feeling more confident and self-assured. They are more willing to attend school in person, and to start rebuilding connections they lost during treatment. Now that we have her services, we are wondering how we ever managed without them. Kendra’s kindness, compassion, and professionalism is apparent in every interaction. Our program is lucky to have her as a referral source!
